In brief

Dr. Marian Darlington-Hope has embraced Dialogue Education into every aspect of her life since taking her first workshop in 1986. A believer in the principles of DE to transform, Marian has used DE in the areas of her greatest expertise: education, voluntary associations, and non-profit organizations.

A university professor and administrator for over 25 years, Marian has specialized in teaching adult learners, creating learning environments for their unique needs, and designing curriculum for a truly collaborative learning experience. Marian’s advocacy as a university administrator has led to the redesign of existing structures becoming more inclusive and inviting campuses for non-traditional students. While at Lesley University Marian and another DE colleague created video sharing the principles with new adjunct faculty.

Marian has served at the local level as a Commissioner and Advisory Board member for human services, public health, and law enforcement. Addressing issues of equity and diversity are an essential aspect of Marian’s work which includes teaching DE courses, coaching, and the design of learning events. As well, Marian continues to consult with voluntary associations, nonprofit agencies, religious institutions, and city government in the areas of organizational capacity and strategic organization development.
