PROJECT SPOTLIGHTS

Addressing Challenges to Reduce Violence Against Women and Girls

Violence against women and girls (VAWG) remains common at all levels of Liberian society. Impunity for perpetrators, limited resources and societal stigma surrounding domestic and intimate partner violence act as major roadblocks. Less than half of survivors and victims seek help, and even fewer receive justice. The civil war in Liberia ended 30 years ago, but its pervasive trauma has contributed to ongoing cycles of violence, especially against women and girls.

That’s Just Good Teaching

Village of Wisdom (VOW) in Durham, NC has been a champion of social-emotional learning (SEL) of Black students in the K-12 system since 2014. They leverage the cultural strengths of Black families and parents to collaboratively design and create culturally affirming learning environments (CALES), so that children of color are successful in the classroom.

Teaching in Today’s Global Context

The International Baptist Theological Study Centre (IBTS) has been on a learning journey to strengthen its capacity in learning design and facilitation through a learning-centred approach. Committed to excellence in teaching and formation, IBTS seeks to maximize the potential of every student who engages in its programmes. Through the IBTS Learning Network, a community of scholars, educators, and practitioners across Europe and beyond, we are fostering partnerships and sharing resources to strengthen theological education more widely.
